PORTRAITS

These are inspired by the work of Paulin’s great-grandfather, Charles-Auguste-Émile Durant, known as Carolus-Duran (1837–1917). Duran’s paintings appear in many museum collections, including Le Musee d'Orsay, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Brooklyn Museum, among others.

These portraits combine oil, acrylic, neon, and gradient paints, as well as tape and adhesive paper.
